Vocabulary

Allergens - substances that cause an allergic reaction

Nebulizer - a device for producing a spray of liquid; used for inhaling a medicinal drug

Emphysema - a condition in which the air sacs of the lungs are damaged and enlarged, causing breathlessness

Corticosteroids - any of a group of steroid hormones produced in the adrenal cortex or made synthetically

Pollen - a fine powdery substance, typically yellow, consisting of microscopic grains

Bronchodilators - a drug that causes widening of the bronchi

Aerosol - a substance enclosed under pressure and able to be released as a spray

Wheezing - breathing with a whistling or rattling sound in the chest, as a result of obstruction in the air passages

Irritants -  a substance that causes slight inflammation or other discomfort to the body

Conjunctiva - the mucous membrane that covers the front of the eye and lines the inside of the eyelids
